About The Programme

This 2-week programme provides an essential foundation in both classical and modern analytical techniques, including titrimetry, gravimetry, spectroscopy, and chromatography. A key focus will be on Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), a powerful technique for separating, identifying, and quantifying volatile and semi-volatile compounds. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles, instrumentation, and real-world applications of these methods, with emphasis on accuracy, precision, and data interpretation. Through both theoretical and hands-on training, the course equips you with the skills needed to solve complex analytical problems in diverse fields such as environmental science, pharmaceuticals, food safety, and biotechnology.

  • Current BSc, BTech chemistry students or biotechnology students with strong knowledge of chemistry.
  • Maximum education level NQF 8.
  • Chemistry and analytical chemistry background.
  • Be able to provide your certificate of highest academic achievement
  • Have no criminal record and a clean credit history
  • South African national or permitted to reside in South Africa
  • Between the age range of 18 to 35 years old
  • Be under or unemployed at the time of application
